Abstract
Aging is a physiological process of decline of all functions, including sexual behavior.
The aging mechanisms of the endocrine system and the factors that control sexual beha- vior are discussed.
Hormones have an important but limited role. There is a sexual, anatomical and functio- nal dimorphism of sexual behavior.
The benefits of sexual activity versus the lack of sexual activity are discussed.
